Different floors break in different places.

A warehouse, a workshop and a shop do not have the same problem wearing three hats. They have three problems, and the systems that fix them are not interchangeable. Here is what we have seen on each floor.

01

Logistics

Stock, trips and proof of delivery in one place instead of five.

What usually breaks

  • Each branch counts stock differently, so head office never has one number.
  • Delivery status lives in chat threads and a driver's memory.
  • Proof of delivery is a photo on somebody's phone until the day it is needed.
  • Drivers and warehouse staff turn over faster than anyone can train them.

What we build instead

  • One stock ledger every branch writes to, reconciled on a schedule rather than in an argument.
  • Trip and job tracking that updates from the driver's phone, not from a phone call.
  • Proof of delivery captured at the door and attached to the order it belongs to.
  • Hiring and onboarding tracked, so a resignation is a task rather than a crisis.
02

Engineering

Quotation, job, parts and invoice as one chain rather than four systems.

What usually breaks

  • The quotation says one thing and the parts bin says another.
  • Job cards are paper, so nothing is searchable a week later.
  • A machine comes back and nobody can find what was done to it last time.
  • Reporting means somebody rebuilding the same spreadsheet every month.

What we build instead

  • Quotation to job card to parts issue to invoice, as one chain with no re-keying.
  • Inventory tied to jobs, so issuing a part moves the stock count by itself.
  • Issue tickets raised against a machine, carrying its full history.
  • Analysis that reads live data instead of waiting for the monthly rebuild.
03

Commerce

One stock figure and one customer record, across every channel you sell on.

What usually breaks

  • Stock differs between the shop floor, the POS and the online store.
  • Promotions are applied by hand, which means they are applied inconsistently.
  • The same customer exists three times, once per channel.
  • E-invoicing is a separate manual step bolted on after the sale.

What we build instead

  • One stock figure, written to by every channel that sells.
  • Counter and online orders in the same fulfilment queue.
  • A single customer record, whichever door they came through.
  • LHDN MyInvois submission built into whatever already issues the invoice.

Your sector is not on this list.

It probably still applies. Stock that disagrees with itself, process held together by one person’s memory and a spreadsheet nobody else understands are not industry specific. Start from the problem instead of the sector.
